May contain spoilers.

Was it just me or does this season of Dancing with the Stars seem a bit lacking in the “star” department? Aside from Shannon Elizabeth who is known for her role in the American Pie movie/movie(s?) and R&B singer Mario, no one really rang a bell in my head. Oh, except for Elvis’ wife who is extremely freaky looking now and reminds me of that lady in The Addams Family. Though I have to admit some of the contestants are brilliantly casted like comedian Adam Corolla and magician, yes magician, Penn Jillette. They were hilarious to watch although not exactly great dancers. Kristi Yamaguchi and her partner Mark Ballas got the highest score dancing the foxtrot. The dance was great but honestly I don’t really see her winning the competition because she seems pretty boring and would probably only get the judges’ regard. And can I just say, the football player Jason Taylor, is yummy looking.

As expected on One Tree Hill, Lucas didn’t get married. What a bloody surprise. I always find it funny how Lucas alway makes these references to books and authors to try and make the show seem important which let’s just face it, if you’re on the same channel as America’s Next Top Model and Gossip Girl, both guilty pleasures of mine by the way, it doesn’t really work. But to sum it up, Lucas was dumped at the alter (we all know he’s too nice to dump Lindsay himself). Apparently she found some hidden message in the rough draft of his story, which is taking decades to be written, and the whole “you love Peyton” crap happens and then there she was, the runaway bride. You get the idea. Other short filler storylines was Karen returning with her boy toy Andy, Brooke wanting to have a baby, little Jamie getting kidnapped by the psycho nanny, and Dan ending up saving the day. It was a long, long day in Tree Hill.

The top eleven show starts off and Randy is already yawning, Paula is in some glittery, attention-wanting frock and the fans cheer the loudest as always for Simon as Ryan introduces the judges. The audience I feel is always a little passive aggressive as they always tend to cheer the loudest for the “love to hate” Simon Cowell yet boos him the loudest when he tells his utmost, superior opinion. And kudos Randy for pimping the horrible Paula Abdul dance track just as the show is about to start. Sad, I know.

It’s another round of Beatles music which I have to admit I’m pretty fond of. I’m guessing the producers want to pull as many record tracks from that songbook as possible. Smart move I suppose.

Amanda Overmeyer singing “Back in the U.S.S.R.” was up first, who I also call “Scary Rocker Chick”. Does this chick sound like she smokes twenty packs a day or what? She actually looks a little less scary this week, which I give her massive credit for, without her crazy hair and deranged gibberish. Randy uses his overused term “pitchy” (not to be confused with “bitchy”) and gives her a seven out of ten score. Simon says it was predictable, and “It is what it is.” The poor bloke turns hot red in the face as she defends herself with the crown cheering and Paula doing one of her “stand ups” of the night saying this is who she is and she’s just giving the audience an example of what they’ll get if they bought tickets to one of her concerts. Optimistic much?

Kristy Lee Cook was up second with “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away“. Sure she’s a pretty little thing, but front runner? I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure she’s on her way out of the show and she’s just hanging around for a little eye candy. Seemingly her performance was a million times better than last week but we all know that when Paula says something along the lines of “You look great tonight” and Randy with “It was alright for me man, it was alright” the contestant is basically screwed. If not this week then the next.

David Archuleta, the youngest contestant of the competition sang “The Long and Winding Road“. I have to admit the kid seems sweet, fake or not, I’m bought. Predicted by many to go far and maybe winning the competition, I’m not sure I would be glad to see him win the title, but overall, he’s alright. Great performance though, better than last week where he flubbed the lyrics.

Michael Johns my favorite dude of the competition sang one of my favorite Beatles songs ever, “A Day in the Life” and had me on the first verse. It wasn’t one of his best performances and thus Simon said it was a mess and Paula babbles on and on about something like earphones which apparently didn’t matter. The lady needs to shove something in that hole in her head.

Brooke White performs another one of my favorites: “Here Comes the Sun“. Her performance was a little lackluster for me. By all means I guess she sort of has that hippie, blue lagoon persona thing going for her but it serious didn’t work out too great. She’s probably one of my top three girls, it just wasn’t her night. Randy gave his “How are you feeling?” line which we all know never follows with something positive and Paula foolishly talks about the wonderful colors of the rainbow while Simon thought it was terrible.

David Cook comes out with his trusty rock guitar, with his rockin’ outfit and a rock song, “Day Tripper“. You do the rest.

Carly Smithson, my favorite girl of the competition or as Simon calls her, The Irish Girl sings “Blackbird“. Simon didn’t like the song choice in which she retaliates by giving an entire inspirational and uplifting speech with bird metaphors and a “let freedom ring” vibe. I love you Carly, but seriously, cry me a long river of Lucky Charms why don’t you?

Jason Castro, without guitar this week sang the Grammy winning balled “Michelle“. Was it just me or did he sound like he ran out of breath at some parts and just wobbled around the stage like a drunk American in France? He’s actually one of the better guys for me, but yeah… It was weird. And severe “LOLs” at Seacrest attempting French with the intro and Randy pimping Paula’s track for the second time in the same night.

Syesha Mercado sang “Yesterday” along with an acoustic guitar. I actually thought she did pretty well except she seemed so distant and drearily depressed. I guess being in the bottom three last week hit her hard.

One of the greatest tracks I think by The Beatles is “I’ve Just Seen a Face” and it was performed by no other than Chikezie. To me Chikezie is a more bubbly, spunky version of season two winner Reuben Studdard but not as huggable (which I’m okay with). It was a fun performance to watch and I liked it. Randy thought it was strange, Paula disagrees and Simon hates the harmonica. Yeah, the harmonica was weird…

Ramiele Malubay closes the show with “I Should Have Known Better“. She’s an old fashion belter as we all know and another girl that I love although I don’t think she’d go that far in the competition for some reason. She just doesn’t seem like a front runner and her song choices kind of suck.

It seemed like most of the contestant’s picked a random song out of a hat or something. It was a weird night.
